South Africa’s Ferguson Films has pledged to partner with Zimbabwean filmmakers for future productions.
Connie Ferguson, actor and Head of Ferguson Films, said arts and culture have the potential to unite people across Africa.
“Thank you for extending such hospitality in your beautiful country; this is my first visit but will certainly not be the last,” she added.
“I have already started talking to some filmmakers from Zimbabwe who have been creating fantastic production. We are trying to bridge the gap between African countries with our series Kings of Joburg, and season 2 is coming soon, Ferguson mentioned.
“As we try to make the continent smaller, we hope that Zimbabwe will be a part of the change we want to create. I have always said that business is business, politics is politics, and the arts and culture is what connects people.”
Ferguson added, “Both business and politics are starting to recognise the importance of arts and culture, and it is now more than ever the perfect time to push ourselves to reach greater highs.”
Ferguson’s three-day visit to Zimbabwe was part of her regional tour and organised Zodwa Mkandla in partnership with Nedbank and Destiny Media Group (DMG).
