To show recognition to the Muslim COVID19 frontline workers, MTN Uganda and Salam TV have partnered up to launch a campaign that will distribute alms to Muslim workers who have been at the forefront of rendering critical services to the country throughout the COVID19 pandemic.

MTN Uganda’s Chief Executive Officer, Wim Vanhelleputte, during a dinner held at Hotel Africana in Kampala said, MTN was pleased to have hosted the Muslim Community once again and thanked them for being partners with MTN Uganda. In prayer, Vanhelleputte said MTN is delighted to spend the holy month of Ramadan, which is an extraordinary time of spiritual reflection, redemption and increased devotion and worship with the community.
Throughout the Ramadan season, MTN Uganda and Salam TV will conduct various activities to engage with Muslims all over Uganda to reach out to the Muslim COVID19 frontline workers. The targeted frontline groups include the Uganda People’s Defence Forces, Uganda Police, Uganda Prisons Services, Orphanages, Teachers and Prisoners.
According to Salam TV Chairman Kin Ibrahim Kariisa, Salam TV is keen on working with MTN Uganda to promote its brand through the KIN Group. The MTN brand has been the pillar of development to many businesses and a sign of support to many families that benefit from its various stable products and services, said Kariisa. Additionally, Salam TV Chairman thanked MTN Uganda for partnering with the organisation and shared its commitment to promoting the MTN brand to their target customers.
