MultiChoice’s Showmax has released the trailer for the third season of the highly anticipated series, The Wife. The famous series will hit screens for its final season on 10 November 2022 after a production break in May.
Produced by Stained Glass Production, season 3 of the popular series is based on a book titled Naledi his Love, written by author and journalist Dudu Busani-Dube.
The first two seasons featured two other love stories, Hlomu the Wife and Zandile the resolute.
Speaking about the new season, Rosalie Swedlin, one of the producers of the series, said, “What makes the upcoming romance Naledi his Love different is that it expands beyond what the viewers have seen in the previous series and what they have read in the book. With this season, we ventured into the North West and spotlighted several Tswana-speaking characters to capture the true essence of the language.
“For the first time, the well-known Zulu drama will narrate some of its eye-catching scenes in another South African language – Setswana,” Swedlin added.
After the second season ends with Naledi being taken by unknown men, in the trailer, we see that she and Qhawe are reunited in a challenging circumstance – Qhawe is chained and locked up somewhere, and a seemingly free Naledi appears.
The cast of the series includes Gaisang Noge, Kwenzokuhle Ngcobo, Zikhona Sodlaka, and Bonko Khoza. The final series of The Wife premieres on 10 November 2022 on Showmax.
