According to a recent industry survey conducted by Broadcast Media Africa, many archivists on the African continent are not entirely aware of what it takes to protect archives from potential hazards and calamities. As a result, Broadcast Media Africa (BMA), in collaboration with Apricity Consulting, will host its fourth one-day online industry forum on ‘Risks And Disaster Safeguarding For Audio-Visual Archives In Africa’ on Thursday, 07 October 2021, at 10h00 GMT via the Zoom platform as part of the Industry Programme on the ‘Preservation Of Africa’s Audio-Visual Media Assets’.
The online industry forum will examine the mechanics of risk management and issues concerning the efficiency of disaster preparedness for the preservation of audio-visual archives and the criteria that underpin success for audio-visual content holders.
Broadcast regulators and public agencies, public and private broadcasters, audio-visual collections and libraries, and content publishing houses will all partake in the forum to inform and educate.
In conjunction with Apricity Consulting, Broadcast Media Africa invites all interested parties to mark their calendars for this important event.
