Against the tradition of the land of Obarohi, a warrior (Ogbomudia; the leader of the king’s guard) will commit the greatest crime of falling in love with one of the king’s maidens.
They fall in love, Itohan gets pregnant, and Ogbomudia’s only choice is to give up everything and escape with her in order to save his wife and baby; otherwise, she will be killed and be hanged.
That night of the escape, under heavy rain, she gave birth to a baby girl, Igbinogun, but Itohan did not make it. As a single father never to be married again, Ogbomudia will commit the rest of his life to his child. However, he will teach her to be a strong woman who will become a good fighter like her father. So Igbinogun grows into a woman who could not stand the injustice in her poor village in the hands of the ruthless king.
She becomes the new robbing hood, stealing from the rich village [Obarohi] in order to help her poor village. The rich king has placed a bounty on her head, yet Igbinogun is committed to saving her people against all odds.
