The Ministry of Education, through the Lagos State Education Commissioner, Folasade Adefisayo, has announced its plans to launch an Education Radio Station, which will be dedicated to broadcasting educational content.
Speaking at the 2021 ministerial press briefing, Adefisayo said that the Lagos State had filed an application for a broadcasting license for the Education Radio Station. Elaborating on the plans, Adefisayo noted that the channel would be dedicated to education and training content for students as well as teachers.
Highlighting the process for the realisation of the goal, Adefisayo said that the approval would be granted in Abuja; however, she believed that at this stage, the licence approval was at arm’s length. Additionally, according to media reports, the commissioner also shared ministry plans to launch skill-based schools focusing on learners with specific interests. Also, there are talks to establish six mathematics laboratories in each of the six education districts.
