The second season of the South African series How To Ruin Christmas has been set for release on Netflix. Season 1 of the show premiered on the streaming site last year, with season 2 due to premiere on December 10th.
The second season, created by Rethabile Ramaphakela and Katleho Ramaphakela, will consist of four episodes. Netflix has not yet produced a trailer for the upcoming season, but it has revealed a few hints on what the season will be about.
The second season picks up a year after the first season’s events. “How To Ruin Christmas season 2 will continue to deliver that chaotic but relatable family drama with everyone’s favourite black sheep, Tumi Sello, in the centre of it all,” said creator Rethabile Ramaphakela in a statement.
“Some new faces are joining the cast, as well as a major twist that will make you reach for your tissues. We are delighted that, in collaboration with Netflix, we are once again able to spread Christmas cheer in true South African style.”
The new season, according to Netflix, will answer a lot of fan questions from the previous season. However, despite the family’s reconciliation, things quickly go pear-shaped.
The season description reads, “An unforeseen occurrence rattles both families, and they join together to make the best of a very unfortunate situation.”
