
The content sales and distribution arm of MultiChoice Group, MultiChoice Studios, has confirmed having secured a comprehensive catalogue of local content, which will be made available to the rest of the world. The selection will be inclusive of ‘The Wife’, an isiZulu telenovela that will be dubbed into French for distribution by Canal+.
The MultiChoice Group is responsible for a range of films and series that have been prominent across sub-Saharan Africa. These shows have been distributed through its Showmax Original banners as well as M-Net Orginal, which are commissioned for various linear packaged channels on their DStv platform and their video streaming service, Showmax.
MultiChoice Studios’s Director of Content Sales and Distribution, Mauro Black, says “The MultiChoice Group is responsible for the largest production of original television content across the continent, and our extensive catalogue titles are what appeals to a wide range audience.”

On speaking about the Stained Glass TV-produced show, The Wife, Mauro says, “the distribution deal with Canal+ highlights a developing trend among buyers who now request bundled packages that contain both evergreen dramas and new releases.” She then adds by stating that the deal with Canal+ is a testament to MultiChoice’s high-quality productions that meet all technical requirements for dubbing into various languages.
