The first-ever documentary on the reality TV show, Big Brother Naija, is set to premiere Saturday, 13 August 2022.
Chief Executive Officer of ID Africa, Femi Falodun, the media consultant for the reality TV show, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, 11 August 2022.
Falodun noted that the documentary titled “BBNaija: the Fame, the Fans, the Frenzy”, produced by The Bang Studio, will premiere on Africa Magic Showcase.
“‘BBNaija: The Fame, the Fans, the Frenzy’ will take viewers behind the scenes of the reality TV show and reveal some truths about the show’s production.
“The documentary features some of the show’s housemates, including Laycon, Mercy Eke, Alex Asogwa, Bisola Aiyeola, Elozonam, and Ozo, to name a few.
According to Falodun, BBN: The Fame, the Fans, the Frenzy’ tells the untold story of the show and also examines its impact through the eyes of stakeholders, with appearances from the host, organisers and the crew.
“The show has grown to become one of the biggest franchises in the world,” he added.
Falodun explained that the show has grown beyond African boundaries, reaching new markets.
“The show recorded over a billion votes from viewers in the recently-concluded season. It was also watched in over 30 countries across the globe, and I am delighted that we get to share the backstory of how the show is created and how much it changes the participants’ lives,” he added.
Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels for MultiChoice, Dr Busola Tejumola, also shared her enthusiasm about the premiere of the documentary.
