Together with Archewell Productions, Netflix has revealed their first documentary series called “Heart of Invictus”.
It is to be recalled that in September 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, incapacity of the royal’s production company Archewell Productions, signed a multi-year deal with the popular streaming service Netflix. The agreement was to develop several projects ranging from scripted and unscripted programming for the streaming giant Netflix.
The series in development is inspired by The Invictus Games, which date back to 2014. The Invictus Games focus on service members who experienced life-changing illness and injury. According to reports, the series is planned to follow the next Invictus Games in The Hague in 2022 and explore the athletes’ willpower and spirit.
Executive Producer Prince Harry, a long-time advocate for Invictus Games, will be making an appearance in the series.
During an interview, Prince Harry said, we have always known that each competitor would contribute immensely to the complete picture that fulfils the Invictus Games. Creating this series will mean that communities worldwide have access to these uplifting stories of the competitors. Additionally, Archewell Production is extremely thrilled to have partnered with Netflix and the Invictus Games Foundation on this journey of Invictus community healing and continued service.
Director Orlando Einsiedel leads the project’s production whilst Netflix, in partnership with the royal couple’s production company, Archewell Productions, are the producers. Netflix is yet to announce the premiere date for the series.
