According to BMA research, fast data connectivity is now driving an enormous demand for OTT streaming and video-on-demand across Africa. So what does this mean for the continent’s content distribution industry?
According to Benjamin Pius, Publisher of Broadcast Media Africa’s (BMA), content distribution and delivery mechanisms have evolved, bringing – almost beyond recognition – which has brought new opportunities to help broadcasters deliver high-quality programming that commands commercial success. To understand the dynamics of these evolutions and how players can take advantage, BMA has announced it would be bringing together industry executives to a hybrid industry forum on “Content Distribution Platforms And OTT Streaming Services”.
From Wednesday, 20 October to Thursday 21 October 2021, BMA, together with industry representatives from various organisations ranging from TV stations (public and private), platform owners, telecoms operators, content publishers, content aggregators, and content delivery networks, will be convening in Johannesburg, South Africa (and online).
