
Eutelsat has launched a new free-to-air satellite TV service, Imperial TV HD, available in 83 countries with an estimated combined viewership of 53 million.
According to Dr Isaiah Brian Sovi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Imperial TV, the bouquet carries about 200 channels, with content ranging from top Christian sermons, documentaries, movies, kids content, drama series, gospel music, and talk shows to reality programming.
“At Imperial TV, we are excited to launch the new satellite decoder that is poised to bring fresh, dynamic and exciting family-friendly content to television consumers. As the team leader, I am proud to say that 24 months of putting together a team of engineers, content developers, broadcasting infrastructure and sourcing CapEx has birthed this behemoth satellite TV service that will change the Broadcasting landscaped beginning with Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East and set to expand to other continents as the time goes,” Sovi said.
Sovi added that the Imperial TV HD decoder comes as a relief to television consumers as they do not have to pay monthly subscriptions to access about 200 Television Channels on the decoder.
“As a 21st multimedia company, we have incorporated cutting digital and technology infrastructure to meet the demands of the ever-evolving consumer trends in the broadcasting market. We are offering Video on Demand products, IPTV, Livestreaming and OTT platforms to ensure that our consumers get the programming they want wherever they are and whenever they desire,” Sovi adds.
The media company is Headquartered in Zambia, has an operations office in South Africa, and is opening distribution centres in different African countries.
