
Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Minister of Information in Ghana, has announced that an agreement with an International TV platform to broadcast Ghanaian TV channels is currently underway.
This action intends to expose Ghanaian content and intensify Ghanaian media in international markets across many countries. The governments’ strategy is to ensure that locally produced content gains international recognition to grow international viewership for Ghanaian broadcasting.
“Minister Oppong Nkrumah is currently discussing with global broadcasting regulators aided by embassies in Ghana to administrate the process. This venture promises to enhance Ghana’s economic and investment prospective on international channels. In addition, this will assist in developing tourism opportunities for Ghana.
“This will boost the export of Ghana’s multimedia content to international territories and see an increase of the global market share. As it stands, we are getting inquiries from Ghanaian TV Stations, and we aim to aid them in accessing these markets,” he mentioned.
The Minister further says that there is much growth for Ghanaian stories should they make it on the global platform. This will assist in establishing a global presence of Ghanaian content.
