Industry experts believe there is now a pressing need for broadcast content and material to be catalogued, stored, archived, and adequately managed. Therefore, as part of the ongoing Industry Programme on #PreserveAfricaArchives, Broadcast Media Africa (BMA), in collaboration with Apricity Consulting, will hold a third, free-to-attend industry discussion on “Realising Commercial Value And Monetisation Of Archived Content – Strategies And Options”.
The virtual forum will take place on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at 10h00 GMT on the Zoom platform. The goal of the forum is to provide insight into a licensing system that could work for African broadcasters while simultaneously ensuring the preservation of valuable historical resources in order to meet future economic demands.
Industry practitioners may expect to learn about the role of metadata as the lifeblood of transforming preserved material into valuable archived content during the one-day forum to assess archive opportunities for broadcasting organisations, to name just one area that will be discussed.
