BET Africa’s first original daily drama, “Isono”, celebrates its 100th Episode
BET Africa’s first original daily drama, “Isono”, celebrates its 100th Episode since its launch in September 2020. The original African suspense drama storyline ranges from love and betrayal to twists and turns, power, murder, crime, drug businesses and illegal adoption operations. It explores the dual nature of human personalities from revelations of self and shadow behaviour.
Playing one of the leading roles is a seasoned actress, Nthati Moshesh, who plays the deceitful Mother Mary. BET International Peer Lead, Senior Vice President and General Manager at ViacomCBS Networks Africa, Monde Twala said, the 100th Episode of “Isono” is a significant milestone.
BET Africa is enormously proud to celebrate this achievement. The first 100 episodes of the daily drama have played a fundamental role in tackling societal issues that the audience across the continent can relate to having experienced. The issues addressed in the show range from gender-based violence, drugs, alcohol abuse, and mental health issues.
BET is committed to educating global audiences on the richness and nuances of African culture and storytelling. We intend to share African talent with the world, and “Isono” is a testament to our vision.
Creator Manchester Mahlogonolo Mahapa said the show’s 100th Episode had not been an easy accomplishment, especially under COVID-19 pandemic regulations and restriction. It has been a fantastic learning curve, Mahapa said. We want to thank our audiences who have inspired the creators to bring this innovative homegrown content production to life, Twala proclaimed on behalf of the show.
