South African property reality series, Listing Jozi, is expanding with Listing Cape Town. According to Nico Nel and Trevor Kaplan’s AlternaTV, the show will follow a new set of realtor movers-and-shakers showing multi-million housing properties in the Mother City.
The filming of Listing Jozi started filming in early-2020 prior to the global COVID-19 pandemic and its subsequent lockdown of society. The reality series followed five property brokers in Johannesburg selling property and made its debut in South Africa and across sub-Saharan Africa in 2021 on BBC Studios Africa’s localised BBC Lifestyle channel.
BBC Studios Africa and AlternaTV have now expanded their pact with a Listing brand extension in the form of Listing Cape Town that will feature a new set of property brokers working in Cape Town.
A statement by AlternaTV’s Nico Nel said, “Our shows are sourced by ourselves and not based on commissioning. This means that it takes a while before we can finalise all our ideas; however, we are venturing into Cape Town, and it will be phenomenal with all of the properties of that area.
According to BMA sources, BBC Studios Africa’s PR agency in South Africa, Atmosphere Communications, was asked to comment and provide more information during a media enquiry about Listing Cape Town. The query was for the PR agency to provide more details about the show’s debut date and the names of the real estate agents who will be appearing in the new season. Atmosphere Communications’s publicist responded, “we are yet to release information on Listing Cape Town.”
BBC Studios Africa and DStv Media Sales have been reported to promote and push Listing Cape Town as a new TV property available for TV commercials and sponsorship.
