With almost two decades of experience and exceeding revenue goals and other success metrics, Farida Idris has led her respective organization in sales and revenue growth through building strategic alliances, improving viable projects and developing effective blends of best practice and teamwork-based culture, combined with the execution of organizational goals, strategies and measures.
Having started off as a sales account manager, she is now the Group Commercial Director and The Koroga Festival Project Director and has been a stand-out salesperson in the department with consistent exceptional performance within the organization over the years, and now with a team consisting of 25 personnel under her docket.
The Koroga Festival is a two-day festival with an average total footfall of 15,000 people. Since taking over its management, Farida has doubled its profit margins, introduced innovative and effective execution styles and introduced themed editions that have resonated successfully with the organization, its clients and The Koroga Festival revellers. She’s in charge of planning, execution, implementation and obtaining sponsorship for every edition of The Koroga Festival, event security, event visual layout and feel, as well as overall customer experience. She’s also taxed with crisis management and critical decision making on behalf of Capital FM and The Koroga Festival and has grown strategic partnerships that have elevated The Koroga Festival experience for both business partners and revellers and realized one of her vision and objectives of making The Koroga Festival a National Event with the first out of town edition in Naivasha (2020.) Passionate about job creation for the youth, she has dedicated The Koroga Festival Day 1 to nurturing home-grown talent and youth job-creation, by featuring strictly local artists.
Besides her passion for advertising, broadcast and digital media, she is passionate about travelling, cooking, reading, mentoring young people and Health & Fitness.
